The Royal CHARLES-QUINT Tennis Club in Brussels is a sport club that takes care of the satisfaction and welfare of her members through a qualitative infrastructure and a sportive atmosphere directed towards the practice of tennis and excellent social relations between the members. The Charles-Quint Tennis Club, founded in 1938, has received her title of royal association in 1963. Our club is a non-profit institution since 1965. The members of our Board of Directors, Management Committee and other committees are completing their task for free.
The
eventual profits of the club are reinvested in the management of the club,
having one of the best quality/price ratios. The
Charles-Quint has kept the same values since her foundation in 1938: · Concern about a green and well-cared-for environment. Proof of this is still the communal club “les Bruyères”, that took over the former courts of the Charles-Quint in 1972, exchanged against the actual site where our association has build the club, considered by many as one of the most beautiful of the region. · Attention for the youth. How could we forget the national titles of best youth recruiter of the “Espérance” Tournament or the Tournament of the “Président”, where youth teams have competed sportsmanlike during several years or the success of the tennis school that has produced excellent players and now counts about 150 pupils.
· Aim for valuable results. Many national titles of Belgium for our interclub teams, and especially the last years. Inscription of 29 teams in 2000, of which 4 in national series. Open tennis tournament that has given the club a national and international reputation since 1973 and a 10.000$ tournament for professional players (Kim Clijsters in 1998) since 1998. · Special attention for “sport for everybody”. Tennis, "a sport for life" creates ties between people and generations. Thanks to many animations the Charles-Quint has succeeded to create a club spirit. · Professional management with an amateurish spirit. The complete installation, clubhouses, hall and courts belong to a non-profit organisation with voluntary work of its members since the beginning.
